Street closures for the Big Shanty Festival on April 20 or 21 to April 22 have been approved by the Kennesaw City Council.
6 p.m. April 20 to 8 p.m. April 22:
- J. O. Stephenson Avenue from Main Street to Dallas Street;
- Cherokee Street from Main Street to Shirley Drive/Big Shanty Drive;
- Watts Drive from Dallas Street to Main Street.
6 a.m. April 21 to 8 p.m. April 22: Main Street from Summer Street to Lewis Street.
Lewis Street will remain open to improve access to downtown businesses, and the Main Street closure at Lewis Street will be secured with heavier barricades to ensure festival safety.
Also, one lane of Watts Drive will have a passive barricade staffed by an off-duty police officer so that Revival on Main residents can access their apartments.
This off-duty police officer will be paid by the Kennesaw Business Association (KBA), and parking/access passes will be distributed to Revival on Main by KBA.
For the parade route, a rolling closure will begin at 9 a.m. April 22 until the parade’s conclusion at around 10:30 a.m. on Park Drive from Adams Park to Main Street and on Main Street from Park Drive to Lewis Street.
