Kennesaw alcohol laws may be relaxed in April.
A second and final public hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. April 4 by the Kennesaw City Council at City Hall, 2529 J.O. Stephenson Ave., Kennesaw.
The first public hearing was held Monday on the proposed changes that would allow growler shops to sell both package sales and limited consumption of malt beverages and craft beers on premises.
A new fee of $850 would be established for the package/pouring license, while the $200 growler fee would remain in addition to this new fee.
Growler shops and wine specialty shops would be allowed to have joint sales of alcoholic beverages by the drink and by the package.
Free sample sizes would be increased from one ounce to two ounces and the sale of flights for consumption on the premises would be allowed.
A flight would consist of no more than four four-ounce glasses and the licensee may sell no more than two flights per person within any 24-hour period.
