Kennesaw holds called meeting to set extra qualifying dates

The Kennesaw City Council held a special called meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday to set additional qualifying dates to fill an extra council vacancy.

For Council Post 4, qualifying will take place 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Sept. 14 and 15 and 8:30 a.m. to noon Sept. 16 at City Hall, 2529 J.O. Stephenson Ave.

The post was vacated Wednesday by Debra Williams who qualified to run for mayor.

Derek Easterling also has qualified to run for mayor.

The qualifying fee is $360 and the election will be held with the others on Nov. 3.

This council seat expires Dec. 31, 2017.
