The Kennesaw City Council voted 5-0 recently to allow weapons sales at the new gun club on six of 32 acres at Kennesaw Due West Road and U.S. 41.
TMK2 Properties, LLC and Governors Gun Club LLC will be allowed by city officials to sell knives, weapons, guns and ammunition in addition to their full-service operation for an indoor shooting range.
The 83,000-square-foot facility is expected to include a 35,000-square-foot indoor sporting clay range, a 13,000-square-foot retail showroom and a 6,000-square-foot restaurant and lounge, according to Kennesaw officials.
Also, the facility will include a 32-lane pistol and rifle range; an outdoor archery field with an archery hunting simulator; a 30-yard, 2,900-square-foot indoor archery range and three 100-yard, high-power rifle lanes.
Construction on the $10 million facility is expected to begin in June with completion expected by December.
