The Kennesaw City Council voted 5-0 on July 6 to approve fees for the city’s new cremation garden.
Cremation interments will cost $500 on Mondays to Fridays and $750 on Saturdays and Sundays since weekend interments would require a staff person.
This cost includes a 4x6 zinc plaque, black with brushed-gold lettering for the wall (name, year of birth and death).
The interment process will involve scheduling an appointment with the City Clerk’s office and site preparation and turning of the soil/cremains by the Public Works staff.
The city’s Cemetery Preservation Commission recommended approval of the new fee.
Kennesaw also sells cemetery lots for $500 each to residents and $750 each to nonresidents.
