A woman took her four-year-old daughter with her when she broke into a home on Tuesday in Georgetown, the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office said.
Racine Young, 32, of Austin, has been charged with burglary of a habitation, a second-degree felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.
Deputies were alerted at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday after the owners of a home in the Cedar Hollow Crossing neighborhood arrived and found out their entry gate was broken and there was an unfamiliar car in their driveway, according to a sheriff’s press release.
The deputies found Young on the property with her daughter and also found items from the home in Young’s vehicle, the release said.
They arrested Young at the home, and her daughter was released to a grandparent. Child Protective Services was notified, the sheriff’s office said.
Young was being held Wednesday in the Williamson County Jail with no bail yet set.
