One man was killed and another was injured in a shooting reported Saturday afternoon at a hotel near Stone Mountain, DeKalb County police said.

Officers were dispatched to a call of a person shot around 3:15 p.m. Oct. 12 to Scottish Inns hotel at 6255 Memorial Drive near Stone Mountain.

Police arrived to find two men with gunshot wounds inside a hotel room. One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene while the second man was transported in serious condition to a local hospital for treatment.

“It appears that the two individuals got into a dispute and shot each other,” said DeKalb County police spokesman Jacques Spencer.

The identity of the person who died in the shooting has not been released. DeKalb police said it’s unclear how both men knew each other.

No charges have been filed in the case, and the investigation remains active. No other details have been released at this time.
