Summer is here, and it’s the height of the street paving season. Now in the second year of a multi-year Neighborhood Repaving Program, Johns Creek reports it has finished repaving four subdivisions so far of 26 to get refreshed streets in 2016.

Crews have laid nearly 5.4 miles of new asphalt in the Enclave at Foxdale, Estates at Foxdale, Amberleigh and Laurelwoods, and is wrapping up the repaving of Sugar Mill, with 5.8 miles of streets. The work represents total bids of $1.9 million. Another $3.4 million is to be spent by year’s end.

The city asks residents not to park on the streets when paving crews are working, to turn off their sprinkler systems between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m., and to know that the contractor may need to temporarily park equipment on the street.
