The Johns Creek City Council this week approved a $40 million referendum for the Nov. 8 ballot to raise money for park improvements and to acquire green space.
If voters approve, bond proceeds would be used to implement the city’s Recreation and Parks Strategic Master Plan, adopted by the Council in March.
Funded projects would include the development of two parks – Cauley Creek Park on the Chattahoochee River and the Technology Park Linear Park along Medlock Bridge Road – and the restoration of Rogers Bridge over the Chattahoochee, city officials said.
The bond also would fund construction of an indoor recreation center, a 40,000-square-foot facility housing two full-court basketball gyms, a running track, climbing wall, weight room and classrooms, according to the Master Plan. To view the plan: bit.ly/2arRO8V
