The Johns Creek City Council has approved having SAFEbuilt Georgia LLC continue providing building permit and inspection services.

SAFEbuilt has done the work for the city since its incorporation in 2006, initially as a subconsultant to CH2M Hill Engineers Inc., and directly since 2010, City Manager Warren Hutmacher said in an agenda report to the council.

The consultant’s fee will be 60 percent of revenues received from permits and inspections in the categories of plan review, residential and commercial construction, demolition, retaining walls, plumbing, mechanical, and residential and commercial roofing. These revenues totaled $1.43 million in fiscal 2017 and are expected to be $1.36 million in fiscal 2018.

The professional services agreement has a term of five years, with options for up to five, one-year renewals.
