The Johns Creek City Council has approved spending $200,000 to begin acquiring the right-of-way for a proposed roundabout at the intersection of Bell Road, Homestead Trail and the entrance to the future Cauley Creek Park.

“Staff requests authorization to advance the roundabout portion to the right-of-way acquisition phase to ensure the roundabout entrance is constructed when the first phase of Cauley Creek Park is ready for community use,” Johns Creek TSPLOST Manager Brian O’Connor said in an agenda report to the council.

A secondary part of that project, extending an existing trail along Bell Road, remains in the engineering phase, O’Connor said. “Staff will return to request authorization to advance the trail extension portion of the project when the engineering is completed,” he said.

The work is part of the Bell/Boles Road Corridor TSPLOST Tier 1 project. Five operational and safety improvements including the Bell/Cauley Creek Park roundabout are in various stages of planning or construction. Information: https://bit.ly/2Tn9DvV
