A job fair for veterans will be held at Mercedes-Benz Stadium this week.

The event will feature more than 90 Atlanta-area employers looking to hire hundreds of veterans, transitioning military service members and military spouses. Some of the planned exhibitors include the Atlanta Police Department, Kroger and Lockheed Martin.

National veteran unemployment was at 3.8 percent in August, according to a monthly report from the U.S. Department of Labor. In August 2017, the national veteran unemployment rate was 4.4 percent.

The free event is hosted by DAV and RecruitMilitary; it is sponsored by Farmers Insurance. The job fair takes place Thursday, Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the second floor Sky Bridge at 1 AMB Drive NW. Free parking will be available for the first 200 job seekers in the silver deck lot.
