U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar will join the family of Martin Luther King, Jr.,  on Friday to celebrate the recently completed renovation of Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, where King served as pastor during the civil rights movement.

Salazar, King's sister Christine King Farris, his children Bernice King and Martin Luther King III, and National Park Service director John Jarvis  will be on hand to mark the official reopening of the church's Heritage Sanctuary and fellowship hall, which have been closed to the public since a major restoration project began in 2007.

The wreath-laying ceremony will begin at noon at the tomb of the slain civil rights leader, and the ceremony will continue at 1 p.m. inside Historic Ebenezer, 407 Auburn Ave., Atlanta.
