Last week’s winter storm caused at least $25 million in damage across Georgia, state officials said Tuesday.
Insurance Commissioner Ralph Hudgens said insured losses from the ice and snow storm are currently estimated at $25 million, and, “we anticipate that figure to rise as new claims are reported.”
Tuesday’s estimate was based on claims reported by various property and casualty insurance companies, and Hudgens said that not all companies have reported.
“If you have questions about your policy, or if you are experiencing difficulty reaching your company, call Commissioner Hudgens’ Consumer Services Hotline at 404-656-2070 or 1-800-656-2298,” said Glenn Allen, a spokesman for the insurance commissioner’s office. “Phone lines are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.”
