Infighting erupts at commission meeting

Three Fayette County commissioners traded accusations and personal jabs at Thursday’s meeting, mostly aimed at Commissioner Steve Brown. Saying he was “tired of reading lies,” Chairman Charles Oddo demanded that Brown substantiate or retract blog posts alleging “backdoor deals” among commission members. Brown complained about how meeting agenda packages were distributed, and about the lack of a formal vote on whether to give county employees a few extra hours of holiday leave. Commissioner David Barlow also criticized Brown, while denying that his own public postings have been racist. Randy Ognio, who was elected vice chair earlier in the evening, did not comment.
