The Indigo Girls, a Grammy award-winning duo made up of two DeKalb natives, will headline a downtown Decatur music festival in April that supports a local nonprofit.

The fifth annual Amplify Decatur Music Festival will also see performances from Son Volt, The Cactus Blossoms, and Michelle Malone.

Scheduled for April 25, 2020 in Decatur Square, 100% of net proceeds from the concert will go to Decatur Cooperative Ministry, which aims to alleviate homelessness in DeKalb County. Amplify's concerts have raised more than $235,000 for DCM since 2011.

General admission tickets to the festival cost $55, with VIP and Premium VIP tickets going for $155 and $275, respectively. Tickets are now on sale at AmplifyDecatur.org and EddiesAttic.com. The concert will offer food from local Decatur restaurants and craft beer from Three Taverns Brewery and Creature Comforts Brewing Co.

The Indigo Girls, consisting of Amy Ray and Emily Saliers, first met as fifth and sixth graders in Decatur, and have gone on to record several gold and platinum records over three decades in the music business. They are known for their American folk rock sound and have collaborated with artists like Joan Baez and Pink.

Amplify will also host a concert in Decatur Square on Friday, April 24, and three nights of music at Eddie’s Attic. Artists for those shows have not yet been announced.

Amplify Decatur Music Festival is organized by local marketing company Lenz, in partnership with Eddie’s Attic.

“Amplify, with Lenz's support, continues growing its mission to help the neediest among us,” Richard Lenz, president and CEO of Lenz, said in a statement. “We are especially excited with the ambition behind this year's effort and the artists that are participating, and hope it grows the awareness, funding, and positive vibe we aim for every year.”
