Although he will only serve for about six weeks, Peachtree City Councilman Eric Imker has been granted his request to be named to the city’s Public Facilities Authority.
The council voted 4-0-1 on Nov. 19 to let Imker replace former council member George Dienhart, whose board term expired in June. The council had the option of appointing either an existing member or incoming member Phil Prebor, who will succeed Imker in the Post 1 chair in January.
Imker asked to be named to the board so he could vote on a proposal to establish a municipal broadband service, which he said he has “a lot of concern about.” However, he agreed to resign when his term ends Dec. 31.
