Prompted by the pending completion of a major new park this summer, Holly Springs officials are considering setting new polices for those wishing to rent or utilize city park facilities.

The policy sets priorities for general park use, giving first priority to the city of Holly Springs, followed by local recreation providers, civic, faith-based and/or educational groups, then businesses, people in general and other groups. It also sets up daily and hourly rental fees for ball fields, multipurpose fields and pavilions.

During a Monday night work session, council members suggested several changes, including giving a price break to Holly Springs residents and setting up a seven-day cancellation policy for rentals, said city manager Rob Logan.

A revised version is set to go back before the council April 20.
