High-speed chase ends in crash in Cobb County
A high-speed chase that started in Douglas County ended with a crash miles away in Austell.
Deputies told Channel 2 Action News the driver of a Volkswagen Jetta took off after being stopped for a traffic violation.
The driver led police up Austell Road into Cobb County, where police said he drove northbound in the southbound lanes of Austell Road at the tail end of the morning rush hour.
The deputy gave up the chase as the driver nearly hit several cars. Officials said the driver flipped his car and was eventually caught after a brief foot chase.
Investigators said it appears the driver has outstanding warrants out of New York.
