That chance of rain expected in metro Atlanta went down steadily throughout the day.
A 40 percent chance of isolated showers decreased to 20 percent by Friday evening, Channel 2 Action News reported.
Light showers could enter the metro area late Friday night, but shouldn’t be severe.
Currently, the temperature in Atlanta is 83 degrees, below the average of 89 for this time of year.
Saturday could bring a mix of clouds and sunshine with wake up weather in the upper 60s and dry skies.
According to the latest forecast, there is only a 20 percent chance of rain, with most of it expected in Middle and South Georgia. The high Saturday is expected to reach 86 degrees.
By Sunday, rain chances are back up to 30 percent, with a high of 87.
“We’ll be dodging some showers for part of the weekend,” Channel 2 meteorologist Brad Nitz said. “If you have outdoor plans, Saturday (is) the better of the two days.”
Nitz said to expect scattered showers in the afternoon Sunday after a dry start to the day.
The rain chance then jumps to 60 percent for Monday and Tuesday, with highs in the mid-80s.
