The Henry County Tax Commissioner’s office will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11 a.m. Nov. 5 for its first self-service vehicle registration kiosk.

Henry County is one of only four counties in the state, and the first in the metro Atlanta area, to offer this service.

The first location is in the county administration building in McDonough for a trial run, after which it will be installed at Kroger on Fairview Road in Ellenwood.

The new kiosk will allow a vehicle owner to enter a tag number, VIN or driver’s license number to retrieve registration information, then renew and pay with a credit or debit card. The machine will print out the renewed registration including a new sticker that can be placed on the vehicle immediately. Officials plan to open other kiosks in Henry County in the future.
