The Henry County Police Department, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, McDonough Police Department and Hampton Police Department have joined to form the Henry County Body Worn Camera Alliance.
The group “intends to use body cameras as an integrated part of our jurisdiction’s overall problem-solving and community-engagement strategy, helping to retain the solid trust and communication between public safety officers and the community we serve,” according to a statement.
An application is being made for federal grant funding which would outfit 395 patrol and field officers in the county with body cameras.
