The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously at its June 16 regular meeting to accept a CARES Act grant from the Federal Transit Administration in the amount of $2,755,867. The money is intended to be used for transit expenses relate to COVID-19 and no local match is required.

The board accepted a CARES Act provider relief fund allocation of $115,170 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, awarded to the Henry County Fire Department. Another grant for the HCFD came from the Georgia Association of Emergency Medical Services, with $15,975 earmarked for the purchase of trauma equipment, supplies and EMS-related training.
