The Henry County Board of Education approved an application for the 2018-2019 Perkins Grant in the amount of $266,852.
The unanimous vote was at the Aug. 13 regular meeting. The grant, which the district has received in the past, is for career, technical and agricultural education funding. It requires the district to develop and submit a CTAE plan to the state.
The new funding total is a $13,638 increase from the 2018 fiscal year, and it must be used to improve CTAE programs for grades 7-12 without supplanting any other efforts currently funded through state or local sources.
