The Georgia Association of Water Professionals awarded the Henry County Water Authority with the (Sewer) Collection System and (Water) Distribution System Gold Awards during its year-end fall conference and expo in Athens.
The Gold Awards are the highest honors a utility can receive for overall system performance, according to an HCWA spokesperson.
Also, the Authority’s Water Production Department received the Water Quality Laboratory Award for Quality Assurance and Quality Control, which ranks it as the best water lab among all large water systems in the state.
HCWA Water Production also won the award for Best Consumer Confidence Report. Individual honors included the Golden Wrench Award for Andrew Swilley for being the Top Maintenance Technician, and induction into the Golden Manhole Society for the Authority’s Kenny Love.
