Henry County authorities are asking the public's help to find a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident Tuesday afternoon that left a pedestrian with serious injuries.

The woman was struck around 1:47 p.m. as she walked along the side of Airline Road in North Henry County near the Rockdale County line, according to the Henry County Police Department.  The car fled the scene. The victim was flown by Air Ambulance to Atlanta Medical Center.

Police believe the vehicle was possibly a green Jeep Cherokee or SUV with front right damage to the right headlight and turn signal. The driver was believed to be a man in his mid 20s, according to a witness who saw the vehicle leaving the area after the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call 911 or Henry County police investigator S. Ingram at 770-288-8200.
