Several Henry County law enforcement officers were recognized July 21 with commendations for their participation in the aftermath of a May 15 shooting near Eagle’s Landing High School.

Members from the Henry County CAGE Unit along with detectives located the suspect. While under surveillance, the suspect left in a vehicle that was being driven by a female. When agents stopped the vehicle, the suspect fled on foot and a chase ensued.

The suspect drew a weapon but dropped it while running. The suspect was apprehended without injury to officers or himself.

The female driver was also arrested for aiding and abetting a fugitive. It was then determined that the vehicle was used in an armed robbery in the city of McDonough where the male had been identified as a suspect.

The officers cited were Agent Erin Combs, Agent John Gleason, Detective Dwayne Harrison, and Henry County Sheriff’s Deputy Isaiah Harmon.
