Henry County Magistrate Court has added two new judges. Holly Veal (on call) and Danielle Roberts (on call and part time) were sworn in Jan. 3 and will serve on call and will serve as part-time magistrates to preside over civil and criminal matters after regular hours, according to court officials.

They were appointed by Martin Jones, who became chief magistrate after Robert Godwin retired at the end of 2017. Jones will serve the remainder of Godwin’s term through 2018. Also serving the court are Wesley Shannon (full-time), David Brown (part-time & on call) and W. Donald Patten (on call). A Magistrate Court judge is on call in Henry County 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Jail court convenes Monday through Saturday, and court is held weekdays at the courthouse for civil, dispossessory, county violations, disorderly conduct, deposit account fraud, and pre-arrest hearings.
