The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously at its Nov. 27 regular meeting to approve a rezoning request for 683 acres on Lower Woolsey Road for an industrial development.

The applicant, Lower Woolsey Henry 780 LLC of Stockbridge, requested the change from RA (residential agricultural) to M-1 (light manufacturing) with the intent to construct six million square feet of industrial buildings. The county’s Zoning Advisory Board recommended approval July 26 with conditions, including a number of transportation improvements.

The site is about a mile west of Henry County Airport and Atlanta Motor Speedway, near the Clayton County line.
