The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its Feb. 18 regular meeting to award a bid for demolition services on county property at the corner of Fairview Road and Panola Road in Ellenwood using SPLOST funds.

The two large parcels of land, formerly known as the Bellamy property, was purchased by the county for the construction of a public safety facility. Officials identified ten separate areas that need to be removed, including structures with heavy steel and concrete beams, concrete slabs and asphalt areas.

The approved service provider out of six bidders was $239,700 from AMR LLC of Loganville.
