Dense fog that descended over the state from the mountains to the metro Atlanta area lifted before noon.
Sunshine and mild temperatures are expected the rest of the day Sunday, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Katie Walls said.

“I am expecting sunny skies this afternoon,” Walls said.
While it’s mild with the mercury currently at 68 degrees, Walls said one week from Sunday temperatures are expected to be in the 20s.
Sunday’s high is 70 degrees, according to Channel 2.
Monday is forecast to be mild and cloudy, but the rain returns Tuesday evening.
