HCFD reorganization approved by commissioners

The Henry County Fire Department is increasing from two battalions to three under a restructuring plan approved April 21 by the Board of Commissioners. County officials said that call volume has increased significantly since the two-battalion system was adopted, increased traffic congestion has slowed response time for command officers, and the current SPLOST will soon add three fire stations to the existing 13.
