The city of Hapeville will hold its annual event known as Hapeville Clean Sweep on May 12, 13 and 14, according to a press release. The Community Services Department will aid residents in the disposal and recycling of unwanted items that are usually not picked up. Residents will be allowed to put these items out at the street for pickup without charge.

Residents are asked to have all items out by 7 a.m. on the same day of the normal garbage pickup. The items will be picked up on the assigned garbage day only. Items eligible for pick up: carpet and padding, tires, furniture, appliances, electronics/cellphones, small pieces of building materials.

Items that will not be picked up: concrete, rocks, paint, yard waste, dirt.

Items must be of reasonable size and environmentally safe in order to be disposed of properly.
