Gwinnett retrofits buildings to save on utilities

June 28, 2011

Gwinnett County expects to save $220,000 a year on utility costs by making plumbing, mechanical and air conditioning improvements to 41 county buildings.

The county will pay about $790,000 to retrofit utility equipment in buildings like fire stations, park facilities and the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center. Gwinnett will pay for the work with stimulus money from the U.S. Department of Energy.
