Gwinnett detectives announced Monday they have charged a woman and a teenager with murder in the killing of an Auburn area man in what they described as a home-invasion style robbery last month.
Kathryn Voight, 27, and Marckell Honeycutt, 16, face armed robbery charges in the killing of 45-year-old Brian Whitfield, who was found dead in his driveway at in the 1700 block of Flowery Branch Road on Dec. 6.
Voight and a man previously charged, 26-year-old Marquavis Benton, are being held without bond in the Gwinnett County jail. Honeycutt, who is being charged as an adult, is in a Regional Youth Detention Center.
Benton was arrested Dec. 12 in Griffin, three days after Whitfield's truck was found partially stripped of parts in Atlanta. It was a 2005 Dodge Ram "Rumblebee" edition.
