Gwinnett County Administrator Glenn Stephens has appointed current Deputy Human Resources Director Sheryl Dallas to replace HR Director Scott Fuller, who has retired after a long career with the county.

“Scott and I have worked closely together in the Law Department and in subsequent roles for Gwinnett County for over 19 years,” Stephens said. “I think highly of him as an attorney and relied on his expertise during his time as director of Human Resources. I consider him to be a friend and wish him all the best in his retirement. Although Scott transitioned to lead human resources during an important time, I’m confident that Sheryl has the skills and perspective we need as she moves into this new role. Her long tenure in the field of human resources will help us navigate the ever-changing environment of benefits administration, recruitment and retention.”

Dallas, whose appointment was effective Oct. 6, has served as deputy director since 2015. She came to Gwinnett with extensive experience in HR and benefits administration at Miami-Dade County, the Atlanta Housing Authority, Fulton County and Association County Commissioners of Georgia in addition to work for two national public-sector consulting firms. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Public Administration from Texas Tech.

Dallas said, “I’m looking forward to new challenges leading human resources for one the most dynamic county governments in the United States.”
