A woman says a road closure in Gwinnett County is causing a huge disturbance to her home and business.

Marilyn Peterson set up logs and  cones on her property to deter drivers from doing U-turns on her yard after a section of Parkwood Drive betweeen Hwy. 78 and 124 in Snellville was closed for construction.

Peterson says she fears for the safety of her son, who has autism. She says he often plays basketball in their yard and she worries about the drivers on the road.

"People were so upset, they've driven through our circular driveway at the same speed they'd be driving in the road," Peterson told Channel 2 Action News.

Peterson also runs Parkwood Farms, a therapy center for children with special needs. She says the horses used in the therapy sessions are "upset" by the increase in traffic.

Snellville police have also asked drivers to take the detours instead of U-turns on the resident's property.
