Gwinnett man wins $1 million in Second Chance lottery

The second time around is sweeter for a Gwinnett County man.

Hugh Hamley, 55, of Hoschton has been awarded $1 million after being selected the winner of the Georgia Lottery's Super Millions Second Chance Drawing.

"I'm a big fan of that ticket," said Hamley. "I've won a large amount on it."

The manager for a data company and father of three is no stranger to winning the lottery. He won a $10,000 prize in 2010 as a Maximum Green monthly extra chance drawing winner.

Hamley said he is happy to cash in on a second prize.

"I got a call from a friend in Tennessee who saw my name on the news," he recalled. "I checked on the computer, and I was antsy trying to figure out what to do."

Winning the latest prize has Hamley thinking about retirement.

"I've been thinking about the type of lifestyle I want to have when I retire," he said. "But I'm going to stick to my plan and continue working."

Meanwhile, if you want a chance at even bigger prizes, Wednesday night's Powerball jackpot is worth $50 million, and the next Mega Millions jackpot drawing Friday is worth $65 million.
