A Lawrenceville man was indicted for sexting with a 13-year-old girl, according to court records.

A Gwinnett County grand jury last week charged Carlos Daniel Matos with enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Police said that from March to April the girl, reportedly a student at Twin Rivers Middle School in Buford and now 14, was exchanging text messages with the 26-year-old Matos.

The text messages from Matos started out friendly, but progressed to asking the girl questions about her sexuality and eventually asking her to sneak out and meet him to have sex, according to police reports.

On April 10, the girl’s mother discovered the messages and called police. Matos was arrested on April 20, according to court and jail records, and reportedly was released the next day on $27,700 bond, according to The Gwinnett Daily Post.

The girl’s mother told police Matos did not know where they lived.
