A Gwinnett County couple was arrested last week after allegedly tying up a young girl, forcing her to strip and beating her with a belt.
Chris Sidhilall and Jovanna Antoinette Moss, both 32, were charged with one count of first-degree child cruelty apiece. Arrest warrants allege the abuse took place June 1 at their home on Buford's Springbluff Lane.
The warrant issued for Sidhilall alleges he "ordered [the girl] to take her clothes off, tied her hands behind her back, hit her, used a belt to hit her, kicked her in the face and left many marks on the body from the use of a belt." The warrant issued for Moss also accuses her of tying the child up and hitting her with a belt — and "shaving [her] head," too.
The girl was described as a juvenile but her exact age was not released. Her specific relationship to the couple was not immediately clear. It was also unclear if she'd been removed from the home.
Gwinnett County police declined Tuesday to release more information on the case.
Jail records show Sidhilall was arrested June 2 and released on $5,700 bond. Moss also posted bond and was released after being arrested June 3.
