The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners voted Feb. 17 to renew a Department of Transportation contract for the purchase of traffic control signs, street name signs and u-channel posts. The one-year $200,000 contract with Vulcan, Inc. doing business as Vulcan Signs represents a $25,953 negotiated cost savings despite a market analysis indicating a 2 percent price increase.

This signage will be used for controlling traffic and street identification. The contract represents the third renewal option out of three for the county.

Donald Trump's administration deployed the military to Washington, D.C., in the name of fighting crime, and in an Aug. 11 news conference he mentioned the possibility of military being sent to other large American cities, all of which are led by Black, Democratic mayors. And while Atlanta wasn't included in Trump's list, the city fits that profile under Mayor Andre Dickens. (Photo Illustration: Philip Robibero / AJC | Source: Getty)
