Planning commission to discuss signs, church locations

The Peachtree Corners planning commission will meet at 7 p.m. tonight at City Hall, 147 Technology Parkway. Among the agenda items is a special use permit to allow church uses in an office building zoned for light industrial development and consideration of an amendment to the sign ordinance to prohibit signage on bus benches, bus shelters and other street furnishings.

The Planning Commission is a recommending body. Final decisions on special use permits, rezoning issues, and other matters rests with the city council.

Hollis Cobb expansion to bring hundreds of jobs

Hollis Cobb Associates, an accounts receivable management company, will expand its regional headquarters on Satellite Boulevard in Duluth.

The new 27,000-square-foot facility, within the Gwinnett Place Community Improvement District, will allow Hollis Cobb Associates to accommodate their growing workforce and anticipates bringing hundreds of new jobs to Georgia and Gwinnett over the next few years. The company currently employs almost 350 across four locations in the U.S., with 160 of those jobs in Gwinnett.

Founded in 1977 by Hollis L. Cobb, Hollis Cobb Associates offers accounts receivable solutions to hospital systems and large physician groups.

Meeting planned about Oak Road Neighborhood Park

Snellville officials and park planners will conduct a a public meeting to discuss the continued planned development of Oak Road Neighborhood Park at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in City Hall, 2342 Oak Road.

Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood will be on hand to review the latest draft of the park design. Residents are encouraged to ask questions and give their input regarding the look and use of the park.

The park is a passive, neighborhood park with no public parking, designed to be used by residents of the surrounding neighborhoods.

Plans call for a picnic shelter/pavilion, a quarter-mile walking trail, a drinking fountain for people and dogs and a small landscaped green space near the shelter.
