Gwinnett breaks ground on park projects

Gwinnett County will break ground on two Dacula-area park expansions today.

Rabbit Hill Park will add two soccer fields, a concession/restroom building, seven new baseball/softball fields, a multipurpose field with walking track, a playground and a 6-acre lake. The project will cost nearly $9.6 million.

Harbins Park will get a multi-purpose field, a concession/restroom building, walking track, rental pavilion, a dog park, a 3-acre lake and a 1.5-mile paved trail. The project will cost $5.9 million.

Both projects will be paid for with special local option sales tax money.
