Gwinnett Ballet invites young dancers to audition for ‘The Nutcracker’
If your child is an aspiring dancer, a local ballet company might have the opportunity of a lifetime for them.
Gwinnett Ballet Theatre is inviting young dancers to their National Dance Day auditions for their annual showings of “The Nutcracker”. Auditions will be held Saturday, July 28 at 1800 MacLeod Drive.
Dancers from ages 3 to 18 are invited to audition. Times for each age group are as follows:
- 10:00 a.m. to Noon – GBT Performance Division Auditions (Open to dancers ages 12+ with at least 2 years of training)
- Noon to 1:00 p.m. – Ages 3 to 6
- 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. – Ages 7 to 11

Holley Calmes, Gwinnett Ballet Theatre spokesperson, explained that in previous years the company has accepted between 130 to 140 dancers. If accepted, dancers must register for GBT classes and rehearsals.
A total of 16 performances will be held for “The Nutcracker” from November 30 to December 16 at Duluth’s Infinite Energy Center.
