Gwinnett commissioners agreed recently to accept four grants totaling $857,770 from the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council to use for accountability treatment court programs. The Drug Court Treatment Program will receive up to $333,385, with the county matching up to 10 percent or $37,042. This funding will be used for personnel, treatment, drug testing, office supplies, and training.

The DUI Court Treatment Program will receive $163,605 with a county match up to $18,178 for treatment, drug testing, office supplies and training. The Mental Health Court Treatment Program will receive $138,010 with a county match up to $15,334 for personnel, treatment, drug testing, and training.

The fourth funded program will provide $222,770 to the Veterans’ Court Treatment Program. The county will match up to $24,752. This funding will be used for contract personnel, treatment, drug testing, and training.
