A verdict has been reached in a case against two men charged with killing a 15-year-old from Norcross.
Anthony Lumpkin and Eddie Green are among seven suspects accused in a February 2012 home invasion that ended with a single gunshot to Nicholas Jackson's chest.
Green has been found not guilty on malice murder and guilty on other charges of felony murder, aggravated assault and robbery. Lumpkin has been found guilty on all charges.
"This is a case about money and greed," assistant district attorney Mike Morrison told the court during deliberations Friday afternoon.
Morrison says that led a group of seven men to the home of an innocent Norcross teenager. The state believes the men went to steal his fathers' drug dealing money.
As they had throughout the trial, the defense attorneys hammered the state's key witness, a member of the group of that turned on his co-defendants.
"(There are) huge doubts because the people that tie him to this are people that you wouldn't trust at all," said attorney Wesley Parsons, Wesley Green's representative.
"Take anything that a witness tells you with a little bit of skepticism," said David Whitman, Anthony Lumpkin's representative.
Prosecutors believe Lumpkin fired the shot that killed Jackson. Whitman says his client had no idea what the group was up to when they headed into Gwinnett County that night.
Prosecutors say Green allegedly helped plan the robbery and provided the getaway van. They say he was there that night, but did not get out of the van.
