Powder Springs hosts city-wide trash pick up

Powder Springs’ Community Ambassadors seek volunteersto help keep the city beautiful with a city-wide trash pick up event. At a town hall earlier this year, residents expressed concern for excessive road trash. A committee formed to create

“Pick It Up Powder Springs.” Local middle and high school students have already organized to pitch in. Organizers encourage all residents to participate.

When: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, April 22 and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 23.

Help with vision and hearing services

Georgia Lions Lighthouse Foundation is the only statewide provider of vision and hearing services. The organization needs volunteers to meet the demand for eyeglasses requests for mission trips. Help is needed to get the eyeglasses ready. Volunteer opportunities in the Recycling Center include, but are not limited to: washing and sorting eyeglasses and reading eyeglass prescriptions.
