Georgia Tech will add a resource center and academic research laboratories at its campus in France to mark the 20th anniversary of the college's presence in that country, officials announced Monday.

College and French officials will sign an agreement Tuesday to create the Lafayette Institute at Georgia Tech-Lorraine in Metz. The new center will be at the "forefront of global engineering education and research," officials said in a news release.

More than 2,500 undergraduate and graduate students have attended Georgia Tech-Lorraine.
