Georgia Justice Project hosts back-to-school event

It's not too early to think about going back to school.

The Georgia Justice Project will hold its fourth annual "Back-2-School" event from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. July 24 at John Hope Elementary School, 112 Boulevard NE.

Each year, the family-oriented event features health screenings, games, information booths and food for the families of Georgia Justice Project clients.

This year, families from the Genesis Shelter are also invited to join in the fun.

At the end of the festival, all school-aged children will be given new backpacks filled  with school supplies.

The Georgia Justice Project is a nonprofit organization provides legal representation for the poor along with social services. It also includes a landscape that helps employ clients.
