The Georgia Department of Transportation has awarded the contract for a $36.9 million Forsyth County road improvement project to CMES Inc. of Norcross.
The work involves 5.1 miles of widening and reconstruction work on Betheview Road from Castleberry Road to Ga 20. It also includes construction of approaches and a bridge over Big Creek. GDOT says the project will enhance safety and improve the capacity of the roadway through the widening, alignment modifications and the addition of a raised median and turn lanes.
State officials say the project constitutes an almost $50 million investment in Forsyth County when right-of-way and design costs are included. The completion date is June 30, 2019.
